Welcome to St. John the Evangelist Catholic School. Established in 1874, “Seven Generations Have Called Us Home.” I invite you to explore our website and learn about our close-knit community and our commitment to educating and nurturing students through Catholic faith, academics, the arts, and athletics.
In my 26 years as a teacher and administrator, I have been passionate about student learning. My time at St. John has been a rewarding and joyful experience because of our remarkable students. I feel very blessed to be able to work with this amazing team of educators in guiding students developmentally and academically in a Christ-centered community working for respect of all, service to others, and social justice in our world.
Enjoy exploring our website and discovering more about our wonderful and diverse school. Yours in Christ, Dana Donahoo
Ann Williams Principal 2010-2019
Dear Parents and Guardians, It is with a heavy heart that I tell you I am resigning as Principal of St. John the Evangelist Catholic School effective August 26, 2019. I believe God is calling me down a different path, and as I have learned throughout my life, He makes the plans and I just do my best to follow. I am thrilled to tell you the transition should be seamless as Mrs. Dana Donahoo will step in as interim principal. Mrs. Donahoo, who has been our second grade teacher, worked previously as a school leader. She understands our culture and the importance of maintaining the safe, caring, family environment you have come to expect. I have truly enjoyed serving as your Principal for these nine years. In school, you are taught how to hire a teacher and balance a budget, but no one prepares you for the range of emotions you feel or for the depth of love you feel towards your students. Thank you for entrusting me with the care of your most precious treasures. I will miss their hugs, pictures and dance moves. Whenever I needed a lift, especially during cancer treatments, I could always rely on the sweet smile of one of my students. I consider myself lucky to have been a part of your lives. You will remain in my prayers as I hope I will remain in yours. You will always be in my heart.
